Alan Knudson was born on July 4th, 1979 and gravitated towards
music at a young age. Following an ever increasing interest
in performing throughout high school, Alan enrolled at Northern
Illinois University as a percussion performance major. Alan
received his BM in Music Performance (Jazz Studies) in December
of 2001.
During his tenure at Northern Illinois, Alan toured with the
NIU Jazz Ensemble performing at events such as the Montreaux
Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, and the IAJE International
Convention in New York City with artists such as Frank Foster,
Jimmy Heath, Ed Thigpen, and Wynton Marsalis. Currently he enjoys
a busy teaching and playing schedule throughout the Chicagoland
area.
